  • Thank you, just treated myself!
  • Glad I could help someone, I managed to get the wife 1 this morning after trying for a couple of weeks, they go out of stock as quick as they are put online.
  • Thanks - I bought one too :-)
  • So did my pal. Thanks!
  • Out of Stock, like you say, sells quickly
  • Hi
    I did see this yesterday and was umming and aaahhing about getting my husband one for Christmas but as he has an iphone I am just not sure if he would really want one at this price (it is a good deal though).
    I know they have all gone now but do you know how frequetly they become available if i do decide to get him one, it would be a Christmas present so no immediate rush.
    Many thanks
    Elsie
  • They were in stock about 2 or so weeks ago. I bought the 32gb one for Ј319 (posting from it now ) last week.

  • I missed this a couple of weeks ago and kept seeing sold out but rang Apple and the helpful chap put me on a list to be contacted when they were in stock. He said they often don't get listed demands so high. Know another MSE member was told there is no such list?
    They rang yesterday lunch and I ordered one on the phone, they shipped it 6.30pm yesterday and it arrived 9am at work today - very impressive delivery.
    Not set it up yet but will do later.
    Got 16gb as Ill keep music on my iPod touch and aim to keep the iPad pretty clear.
    Seems a great value deal for an iPad.
  • I'm all set up and it's just as a brand new one, really pleased and on there now!
  • Hi
    After the OP posted last time, i checked the site most days until I got a 32gb black one. It took about 10days and it's immaculate very pleased.
  • You have all been really helpful thank you. I will check daily, now I just need to decide if my husband would really like one or am I secretly buying it for me and the kids!!!
  • Just in relation to those who are worrid about the quality;
    I don't have a refurbished ipad (I wish I did!) but I do have two other refurbished apple products. A 2nd gen nano bought in 2008 and used very frequently and an ipod-touch which Apple replaced for me in April when my original became faulty.
    Both are excellent condition, you'd not be able to tell by looking or even via a basic scour through that they are refurbished models. The outside looks perfect- no scratches no finger prints and nothing preloaded but the basics just as if you'd bought it brand new.
    If I had the money and option again, I'd easily opt for a refurbished model. Apples customer services are Amazon standard (eg very good) and if you do have any issues they offer great help- not that I've had a problem with a refurbished model (only with the original ipod-touch bought from a separate well known store).
  • I'm glad so many people have purchased this (imo) bargain, from the apple site;
    The same 1yr warranty as a brand new iPad.
    All Manuals and accessories
    A brand new battery & outer shell
    A new white box

    It doesn't state a new screen but that said I ordered on Wednesday it was delivered on Thursday (free del) and it is like a brand new one,
    Just to add, they do go out of stock very quickly so it's a case of checking the site & trying your luck
  • Looks like a good option for those wanting an ipad. Just a slight word of caution as I am sure that you are all aware. These are 1st and 2nd generation ipads and are not the latest ipad which are third generation and have the retina displays. Just in case you are buying for loved one who may be wanting the latest version.
  • 2 Apple staff have said the refurbished iPad 3's will be on sale before too long - few months - but higher price than the 2's.
    I can't fault the refurbished iPad 2 I got yesterday.
    I went to an Apple store last weekend to test the 2 and the 3 out but for me the 2 was right.
    Another thing I found out was if you have an NUS student card or proof you are a teacher you get discounts but not on refurbs. They offered me the 16gb iPad 3 with Ј16 off plus a Ј35 iTunes card - but I still decided the 2 was best option for me. Gather student/teacher discounts off their computers are much better.
  • Do not worry about quality of the refurb if you buy direct from apple refurb store. You cannot tell the difference from new. However 'refurb' from other sources you pays your money and take your chance. Got one of these from apple refurb store a couple of weeks back, happy in every respect.
