A question about : Infra red radiators, anyone using?
I'm considering getting one of these as a secondary form of heating to the central heating for a room that is only used occasionally.
The last time this was discussed on here was 6 years ago and the subject got a little 'heated' regarding the efficiency.
Surely technology will have moved on now, so I would be interested to know if anyone has the radiators, not the 'space' heaters or similar, and how effective they are.
Much appreciated.
Best answers:
- All electric heaters are 100% efficient. The only reason for choosing one over another is ease of use.. They cost about 3 .5 times as much to run for the same amount of energy output, as gas costs.
Technical progress might make gas boilers a little more efficient, but, as electric heaters are already 100% efficient, will not improve them.
