A question about : Help setting up charity page?

Hi this is the first time I am setting up a charity page, I have a team of 10 people who are all raising for the same charity, is it possible to set up one charity page online for all of us? If so which is the best site to use? Justgiving or virginmoneygiving? Also how will our chosen charity know that we have combined as a team, as we have all pleged to raise a certain amount individually? Thanks,

Best answers:

  • I'd advise talking to the charity involved: we'd probably send you to Virgin, we might even have a link ready to add you to a larger 'event', they should be able to help you.
  • Individually set up at Just Giving page. I'm not sure if you can set up a team one but you probably can! It gives you the opportunity to detail what you are raising money for and how you are going about doing it.
Maybe speak to the charity first as its always good to let them know of your plans etc.
They will also be able to help you with different fundraising ideas and any equipment you need. I have my own event each year for Cancer Research UK and they would often call me to ask how its going and to thank me after the money has been raised.
Very rewarding indeed! Good luck with your efforts =)
go fund me site seems to be ok, I'm in the uk and have just started using this site to start raising funds for a sleep out for the homeless, simple to use and you can sign in using facebook and update topics from the fundme page and it goes straight onto facebook too, of you can choose not to link with facebook at all.
If you click the "Near Me" tab above all the pictures on the main page it will find you UK-based fundraising so you can have a look at what others are using it for.
donating seems to be straight forward as well, i haven't raised loads of money but I've only been using it for less than a week but I've made a start,,
you can also write daily reports on gofundme, tell everyone who is involved, who they are, why your doing what your doing etc,
but you could also make up a blog (blogger) page for your charity aswell and link your gofundme to it as well,
its a lot of work but can be well worth it in the long run.
hope this helps you a little..
