A question about : Help needed with xbox live

I bought my son an xbox one for xmas but we are unable to play games online. I have set up an x box live account but when we go to play a game online it says Your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access this feature

Please can anyone help us.

  • Have you bought a subscription for Xbox Live Gold?
    Generally the message you receive is the one that indicates you only have a standard Xbox Live account and not a Gold membership which allows you to access certain online gaming features.
