A question about : Help! End of tether with Vodafone

Looking for help to resolve what is becoming a long drawn-out issue with Vodafone.

I took out a new contract with them in November, cancelled and returned handset within cooling off period due to the number not working and subsequently terrible customer service. Kept receiving bills which I called to query - was told on 3rd Feb that this was an error on their part (which I knew) and that the balance would be removed from the account and no further action taken. On 11th Feb, I received a letter from a debt management agency! Again... called Vodafone, who confirmed AGAIN that this is an error and said they are 'working on it'.

Latest communication was on Wednesday (18th Feb), when I called for an update. I explained that my concern was that they would notify the credit ref agencies of a missed payment, and was advised that 'this won't happen'. The guy I spoke to told me that another team was 'dealing with it' but that he couldn't transfer me. He said that the manager dealing with my complaint would call me before the end of the week. As yet, I still haven't heard anything from them. Little wonder I find it difficult to trust anything they tell me. title=Mad

Beyond frustrated, as I have worked hard to build my credit score over the years and have spent several hours on the phone over the past few weeks trying ger this resolved. I feel I have given them every opportunity to sort out their mistake. Not usually one to make a fuss but really feel aggrieved at the service from Vodafone and want to escalate my complaint to the highest level.

What should I do next? Is there a process I need to follow in contacting the Ombudsman? How can I find out whether this has impacted my credit score without having to fork out monthly subscription fees to check my files? Have asked Vodafone for written confirmation but (surprise surprise) have yet to receive a response.

Thanks in advance.

Best answers:

  • 1) Contact the WRT as instructed hundreds of times on this thread (or continue to run around in ever inceasing circles).
    2) Sign up for a free 30 day trial with each of the cfredit refenrce agencies (via a cashback site and they will pay you) to check your credit files. Vodafone may only use one of them.
