Three weeks ago I put a book on ebay which sold a week later. I sent an invoice after three days (I had been away in London) and was expecting a payment within 3 days back. After a week and a half and no response, I messaged the buyer asking when they would pay (this was on Tuesday) and they said they would pay the next day when they had been paid. I said that was fine. By Friday, still no payment so I messaged again very apologetically and said if I didn't receive payment by Sunday I would assume they are no longer interested and would resell. I then checked my ebay and it said at the top of the page 'the buyer has marked this item has paid' but on my selling page it says I'm still awaiting payment for this item and I haven't received any payment into my paypal account. I'm an honest person and would never try and take money from someone and I'm worried she will give negative feedback and say I've kept money and not sent the item.

What do I do next?

• Just submit it as a dispute with eBay, they will try and make contact with the buyer and if the matter can't be sorted they will cancel the transaction and refund you your seller fees. The team at eBay should be able to tell if payment has actually been made.
  It is an unfortunate reality that there are bad buyers as well as bad sellers on eBay.
• I've moved your thread to the ebay board as I think you will get more responses.
• It just has a timer and says they paid, I can't see how they paid but I only accept Paypal anyway. Do I leave it in the hope the payment will go through or just submit a dispute straight away? I don't want to get any negative feedback so I'm unsure how to handle this.
• If you go into your listing and choose the option " sell similar" it will allow you to check if you listed the correct email address in that listing
• I've just made a purchase (2 days ago) and mine is showing that I have paid by an eCheque.
  I'm not sure why this purchase is any different to any other purchases I have made, they usually get paid direct from my bank account via Paypal. My debit card is still valid and my bank account is verified. I'm at a loss to understand but I have contacted the seller so he/she is aware.
  I wonder if there is a problem with direct payments.
