A question about : Healthiest Bought Bread
Hi,
I have tried googling but getting confused! I just wondered if anyone knew of the healthiest bread to buy. I understand a lot of breads are full of salt and sugar and are really processed so am looking for suggestions.
We currently eat Kingsmill tasty wholemeal. We don't actually have a great deal so is this ok to continue with or is it a no go?!
Best answers:
- Buy the bread you like. Eat it in sensible, moderate amounts.
- Multi-grain bread made with brown flour. I'd say watch the grains though if you have teeth which are at all fragile! The multigrain take your body longer to break down and this decreases the GI level. Note that multi-grain is not the same as wholegrain which isn't a bad type of bread but the GI levels could be higher than multigrain (which is a bread with lots of seeds and grains running through it).
- Burgens soya and linseed is super-tasty and very filling, plus not super-processed
