Best answers:

  • My boyfriend did it in June. He said the electric shocks were not the mild "zap" he was expecting; they were actually knocking people off their feet. He described it like being punched really hard in the back!
He's signing up to do it next year.
  • They do the same thing here but it's called total warrior.
I'd love to do it but next time it's on is next august and I'm hoping I'll be pregnant or have just had a little baba by then! x
  • Tough Mudder is for GIRLS..
Real Men..Run the "Tough Guy" Course..
  • My boss did Tough Mudder last weekend and said it was an amazing experience. He agrees that the electric shocks are a lot worse than you would expect and his friend got stuck and was shocked a lot!
He also said that the mud trenches he crawled through were layered at the bottom with stones so ended up with really scratched up, bloody arms.
  • It looks amazing, I'm trying to get fit enough
    HBS x
  • I've signed up for next year! I'm fat and un fit. And lost my motivation to get healthy.
Someone hand me it back please?
  • I did Men's Health Survival of the fittest. Swimming under a net in ice cold water in November whilst being hosed in the face. Not a pleasant experience....
It's all about the Spartan Race anyway
  • I've done Tough Mudder, Dad did Tough Guy (came out looking as though he needed 24/7 care, couldn't even hold a cup of coffee!) swore never again, then did Tough Mudder.
I'm glad I did it but won't be partaking again
  • I did it this year. It was tough......very tough. After about the 3rd mile every mile felt like 10. I did the Yorkshire route, over the moors, and it was absolutely hell on the calves. The feeling when I crossed the finish line was second to none though! I ached for days afterwards, and had the filthiest bruises in the wierdest places. Never again! :-D
  • I'm trying to persuade my friend to sign up this year - really want to do it but don't really fancy it in a team of one.
  • I haven't done tough mudder but I have done others like it. I usually go for the shorter distances so I do less damage to a dodgy knee! Absolutely love the the assault courses. They are fantastic fun and the atmosphere brilliant. You have natural rests for the obstabcles so the distances are less of an issue to me than in a flat run. The zapping was on another course I did and it wad nothing. One part of a long course. If anyone was looking to do these types of races I would highly recommend them. You will be on a high for days after with sense of achievement.
  • Make sure you go with someone so you can look out for one another. Someone died the other year when they jumped into a muddy pool then loads of people jumped on top of them.
  • I will be doing this next year with some friends from work. I am a complete couch potato and think it might finish me but I have joined a gym and am going regularly.
My friend has challenged me to do a 10k warm up race in Exeter in March and I'm more worried about that for now!
  • Love the obstacle races
  • I really want to do the Major series run this year, working towards it as the tough mudder is way too advanced for me, plus i couldnt deal with the shock factor!
The major series is a similar style but seems slightly easier and the distance is shorter!
