A question about : Gift my Olympic tickets
Does anyone know if we can just give away our tickets for no money?
I can't attend any of the events I got tickets for and wish to give them to family or friends rather than sell them back or not use them.
Is it possible?
Best answers:
- Yes you can. LOCOG stated a while ago that your tickets can be passed on to 'friends and family'. How this will work practically I am not sure as the tickets will be printed with the cardholders name on them when they are delivered. I am hoping they won't need to bring the cardholders ID just to confirm this when you reach security at the venue.
But the answer is yes - Confirm yes. On 2012 website FAQ "What can I do with tickets I no longer want"
Answer is "Our ticketing policy states that tickets are non-transferable. However, providing you as the lead booker are contactable on the day in case of query, a member of your family or a friend may use tickets you can no longer use." So presume that means you don't have to be there which it states elsewhere. Confusing but if contactable, i presume by phone, you family or friend can have your tickets.
