A question about : Free Unlock Codes for Nokia Phones
We are starting a new thread as the old one was getting a bit long to read.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO WAY TO UNLOCK THE NOKIA 6630+6680+7710+9500+9300+6620 , the only way to get it unlocked is to pay the Network ! . Any site that claims to unlock these is lying !! . The only equipment available at this time repairs the software on the phone, it cannot unlock it ( info still correct 07/10/05 )
Your IMEI number is obtained by entering *#06# into the phone
You need to enter the Network that the phone is locked to not the one you wish to use.
As a rule the code ending in +7# is the one to use in the U.K. if that one does not work then try the one ending +1#
You only get 5 attempts to unlock by code so if you get stuck please ask for help !! (it's not the end of the world if you use up your 5 tries, the phone will still work and can be unlocked by a shop/market or boot stallholder with the correct equipment for about Ј10)

Unlock Instructions:
1. Only try the supplied code once
2. Take out the SIM card from the phone.(unless it is a Nokia 6230i, you need to put a sim card from another Network in that one before you enter the code...Drahcir reminds me !!)
3.Type in the generated code in the phone
(E.g) #pw+123456789101112+1#
the phone will then normally reboot itself and come back on at which point it is unlocked. Try with a simcard from another network and it should accept it.
You may be asked for the security code which is 12345 (or sometimes 00000) uless you changed it or PIN code if the sim card itself has a security code(normally a 4 digit code supplied with the sim card) .If you enter the wrong Sim PIN 10 times you will be asked for a PUK code which you need to get from the Network.
IF you cannot remember your security code this can be reset by a shop/market or boot stallholder with the correct equipment for about Ј5 to Ј10
Further Informational Instruction:
1. To show p in the phones display - just press * three times within two seconds.
2. To show w in the phones display - just press * four times within two seconds.
3. To show + in the phones display - just press * twice within two seconds.

- code 7 removes all the locks, but code 1 may unlock it...which in your case it did
- trying to unlock 3410 which is currently on 02
?what is IMEI code. I have downloaded the a unlocking calculator but it asks for this number and I dont know what it is
Also when phone is switched on it is requesting a pin no, which my son changed and cant remember, how do I resolve this

If it is PIN not security code then it it is the default one with the sim card...normall in the welcome pack

read the tread about Non-nokia phones - I hardlocked a nokia 3220 and thanks to browntoa, stopped wasting time and looked for someone to unlock it. Found someone local who did it for a fiver! Woohoo! Thanks for advice, and patience.
- PLEASE be kind, Browntoa!!!! I have read the threads (which are very very helpful) so I am very aware that unlocking the Nokia 6630 ain't easy... and has levels of complexity to it. Question is - is there any light at the end of the tunnel regarding this? Is it likely to be possible, and if so, will it be in months or years???
- I am aware that unlocking the Nokia 6630 is virtually impossible so thank you for the very helpful thread on this Browntoa. Question is (and sorry to ask) is it ever likely to be cracked and if so, would you predict months or years??? Mine is on "3" and the deal is fabulous for what I use it for (virtually free) but I would love to use it overseas with a local SIM. Thanks in advance.
- from what ive heard from the people who provide unlocking solutions, it wont be too long before a solution is available although it wont be free (for a while?)

(although it still goes for anyone complaining about a free service) - I have tried 4 times and all 3 methods mentioned in the original post. It has been a "code error" every time. I have a nokia 6230 (not 6230i). Any thoughts why it isn't working. Is it possible that its unlocked already??
- Wow, how things have changed, a good few years back I bought all the cables and software for unlocking nokia's (DCT3) and I remember the bad old days of having to dismantle 3210's, shorting pins on the eprom chip while powering up the phone and running the unlock software, even not so long ago the Nokia 8310's were a nightmare to unlock before newer software became available, Now DCT3 & 4 phones can mostly be unlocked with codes....If I remember correctly it took over 18 months for a system to unlock DCT3 phones by code to become available, so a little wait for the options on the 6630 to become available shouldn't harm anyone
@Tuesnightspecial - Possible, put a sims in from another network....if it gets a signal, it's never been locked - Hi i cant unlock a Virgin nokia 2600 using the nokiafree calc 3.00, when i unlocked a virgin 3200 it had a custom mcc+mnc but searching fot this phone yealds nothing.
The IMEI is 356230005419067 is anyone can help.
