A question about : flight delay with tech problem + snow

i had flight booked with emirates on thursday 29th jan.arrived at 6am checked in told was running a hour late but would make up time for my connection.then was annouced there was a techincal problem and further info would be provided at 10am this was around 8am.
by 9am the airport had closed due to snow.then at 10am the airline handed out meal vouchers for Ј10 which i collected and used.by the time i collected them the board had been update to 11am more info would be provided then it changed to 12pm.by then they said was able to board at 12.45pm for a 13hr take off.
board plane at 12.30pm round 1pm they shuts doors and deicing would start soon to get us away asap.about hr half hour later they had doen the right side of the plane and was told by the captian they start the left side within 5 mins.i sat finally got a couple of drinks after they missed me 4 times and looked out for the deicing truck.for a hour and half nothing was done oon the left side of the plane.by which time one passanger had a panick attack and breathing problem and was taken off the plane.
after 4 hrs the captian they finally start the left side of the plane deicing.but had 34 mins to which do it and push us back other wise we would have to disembark the plane as the crews hours would be up soon.at 5pm was was finally pushed back with about 10 mins to spare and took off from manchester at 5.15pm.
arrived in dubai at 3.40am came off the plane thinking a few hrs wait and ill be on plane to bangkok.no all bangkok passangers where took to one side and hand boarding passes and hotel accomdation.mine was a 24 hr delay with a hotel provided with free meals and drinks at meal times only.any else u had o pay for.i requested my luggage when i got to the emirates hotel.they say it would be with me when i woke up.
i woke round dinner went down had a meal went to reception to see if my bag had arrived.was told i had to go back to airport as there was a problem.did that spent hout half between left luggage and customs looking for my bag to finally be told it was at the hotel.left the hotel at midnight with a few others i got speaking to who was also not happy about having to stop over for 24hrs.i finally arrived in bangkok a day and half late and took me a further 2 hrs to get to pattaya.
i also contact the taxi firm to cancel my original booking for 30th jan at 7.30am.and lost 2 days i payed for at my hotel which is not refunded to me.
id like to know can i claim on my holiday insurance and the against the airline aswell.as i have never had to claim for somethign like just a new case which the airline payed straight ut for.

    It was a pretty bad day at Manchester that you were caught up in.
    I have some further information which confirms much of what you say and a bit more, but this conversation should be on the ALL OTHER
    NON-EU AIRLINES thread.
    I'll put my initial reply on that thread which will bump it up to the top.
    I think a dedicated Emirates thread would be helpful tho as there seems to be more questions about them recently.
