A question about : Flight Cancellation

My daughter had her flight with Easyjet to Newcastle cancelled out of Gatwick, she had to re-book for the following morning, this flight was also further delayed by another 2 hours which made her lose a full days work and of course wages. The airline gave her accommodation and sub standard food and have said that is all she can apply for as it was not there fault as the airport was closed down due to an earlier landing aircraft blocking the runway. Is this correct?

Best answers:

  • If another airline blocks the runway and closes the airport at the time the flight was due to operate, that sounds like 'extraordinary circumstances' and outside the airline's control
