Best answers:

  • So you can have a rapid update to correct things within 24 hrs, but Experian tell their staff not to tell customers this.
  • Missed the first 5 mins of this so will have to find a 4OD link later.
  • Watching this just now, it's making my blood boil!
  • Not seen anything that surprises me yet, We know the systems are flawed and frequently match the accounts or CCJs against the wrong person.
  • Can kinda understand why you don't get to see potential aliases ... If they aren't necessarily yours then to show them would surely come under data protection?
In our house alone there are 3 Mimi Arc en ciels with the same name. Opening post is a nightmare lol
How would they know which person it is if the CCJ's don't have a D.O.B? Surely that would sort one of the problems out?
  • Thanks for this. I'm going to record it on 4+1
  • That was rubbish.
And no mention that you can see your monthly-updated credit file for free with at least one agency.
  • It seemed to very much focusing on Experian.
I was a little disappointed with the fact it kept mentioned people's 'Credit Score', which as we all know, is different from lender-to-lender, as simply pure guidance from CRA.
I think it should have provided more information on how to get the statutory service, and it almost felt like it was promoting the 'premium' paid service.
Although it was quite 'mean' to Experian, I just wonder how many new 'Ј14.95 per month' accounts they will get thanks to this program.
  • How are you supposed to get this 24 hour update?
  • Ok well that makes sense re lenders - my bank removed a marker within a day after we sorted things out, however my electoral roll info is still not in there despite numerous disputes and sending the confirmation proof.
  • CreditCrunchie - we're updating the electoral roll right now following the local councils' annual canvasses. Shouldn't be long now.

  • 4oD link https://www.channel4.com/programmes/d...es/4od#3658627
  • James, can I ask why you feel a rapid update is unnecessary?
Can I also find out why you're stating there is a training issue here, when other members of your team are stating the same thing?
This is on TV, and whilst I'm only 12 minutes through, there seems to be some discrepancy between your views and others views within Experian.

  • 19 minutes.
I've just gone through signup (without entering card details etc). Where is the part about ALL addresses? I can't find it.
  • We may as well all get jobs there and find out the truth ourselves after all it can't be hard if a journalist got a job and a secret camera in there let loose on the Data.
  • When is Project Mort coming out and what will it do?
Why are these flaws in your system deemed to be 'ok' regarding potential aliases, especially when the CRA files with relation to CCJ's should (in many cases) prove who this belongs to.
Why is the lender made available of this, when the consumer isn't? Is this relevant to data protection too?
  • 'Why do you charge us for checking our report?'
The answer given to this is effectively 'because we can'
