  • Not one close enough to me but thanks for the heads up!
  • Thanks sarah1972.
Worth noting that you need to be a Tesco Clubcard holder to register for this.
I've booked for Sidcup tonight, so I'll see any MSE'rs in the area there.
    Happy eating, everyone!
  • These seem to be the ones available for the South East London postal district, as I've tried a few searches (SE9, SE10, SE13, SE18):
    Bromley-by-Bow HANCOCK ROAD, BOW, LONDON, E3 3DA
Sidcup EDGINGTON WAY, SIDCUP, KENT, DA14 5BN
Purley Extra 8 PURLEY ROAD, PURLEY, SURREY, CR8 2HA
New Malden Extra 300 BEVERLEY WAY, NEW MALDEN, SURREY, KT3 4PJ
Yiewsley Off Yiewsley High Str, TROUT ROAD YIEWSLEY, WEST DRAYTON, MIDDLESEX, UB7 7SX

It's shame that the Sidcup one is the nearest to me, as there's a huge supermarket in Lewisham, which is much nearer.
  • Nearest to me is 67 miles away but hopefully more stores will do this if it is a success.
  • Went to one of these recently. Both mysef and hubby were given 2 goodie bags each at the end. Was a bit boring but well worth it. We didn't apply though we just received an invite through the door.
  • I've just come back from the Tesco Food Evening and it was pretty good.
There were a number of breads to try - including walnut, olive, muesli and pretzels - followed by some sweet treats. This included chocolate tart and granola slice. The piece-de-resistance was the bread and butter pudding, with raspberries, which was devine.
The goodie bag was great, and heavy, and contained the ingredients needed to make the bread and butter pudding (sans the brioche), plus a few other bits.
I did ask them about new ideas and whether they had heard of CroNuts, which I was surprised to hear they hadn't. I told them they were going down a storm in the U.S. and had now reached these shores.
  • This seems like a good thing, I've always wanted to know how they make breads and pastries, especially those continental pastries etc.
Did they give you all those things that are in your pic FlyingDutchman?
Just a slight shame that the nearest one to me is 17 miles away!
  • Thanks for this. I have booked for myself and OH to go next week.
  • I would say it's somewhere in between.
You can taste about 10 different breads, with various dips or spreads, then the sweets. The sweets, from memory: chocolate tart, brioche bread and butter pudding (a fair portion), macaroons, granola square, plus a couple of other things I don't remember.
As it's bread, it's pretty filling, and I would consider it akin to a hearty lunch.
I had dinner when I returned home, without too much effect. But then, I do live about an hour away from the Tesco I went to.
  • Please can u list what was in the goody bag. My o/h lost job other day so thinking this Weill help xx
  • From the picture:

    Almond milk
    Corn flour
    Raspberry jam

    Your choice of bread
  • Thank u I thought I'd seen all that :-) fabulous!
  • Thank you!
Just booked up for my local one - Kingston Park in a couple of weeks time.
  • I just got back from the Sidcup event. It was great, loads to eat and drink and a fab goody bag. As well as the things listed above I got a box of bakery cakes (two cookies, two muffins, cinnamon swirl, loaf of museli bread (I think)).
I would upload a pic- but I cant figure out how.
  • Hope I get extras I'm there tonight! ;-)
