- Thats good news that the 1% cashback is staying, and they didnt try ripping us off onto the free toasters scheme. So I dont think I'll have to look elsewhere.....or will I....theres lots of small print. Whats the change?
- Does anyone know if it'll still retain the other excellent feature of the egg money card that allows you to have a positive balance and therefore allow you to balance transfer to it then withdraw the cash, all without fees?
This used to be amazing for stoozing and I've just signed up to two bt offer cards. - Damn! Didn't know that. Do you know what the fees are or what I could possibly do now? Can't find any info at all. Many thanks.
- There is a Commonly asked questions page for Egg card holders about the Barclaycard here.

It does not look too bad. - "World" mastercard? Was Egg a "world" mastercard?
Looks like they are financing the cashback through the (potentially) higher fees imposed on retailers...
I'm wondering if there will come a time when these cards are denied or attract a surcharge. (In case someone mentions it, I doubt whether any rule from Mastercard insisting they are accepted on the same terms would be enforceable.) - Egg Money was already a World Mastercard.
- I haven't used my Egg Card for a while because I wasn't sure what was going on (plus I have a Halifax Clarity card for Ј5 reward a month). Think I'll keep the Egg card after all.
- @Mr Fishbulb
Once you have spent over the 300 minimum per month, that qualifies for reward on the Clarity Reward card, then you should consider spending the rest on the 1% rebate egg money or world mastercard as it will become. If you don't use the new card for six months then it is cancelled. Perhaps this will be applied retrospectively ?
J_B. - Barclaycard say they will pay up in March as before so I'll give them a regular splurge plus an extortionate season ticket around Late December.
J_B. - I wouldn't be to confident about the 1% level staying for long .......I had a Morgan Stanley Cashback card which when morphed into Barclaycard dropped cashback rates to 0.25% up to Ј200, 0.35% on next Ј1300 and 1% over Ј1500 PER MONTH!
(.....mind you the card is not a "world" mastercard and they'll hopefully be able to offer higher rates on the "world"type?)
I never use it any more - now that egg became barclaycard, can I apply for barclaycard BT 0% card and transfer balance from other card? The rules are BT between barclaycard are not allowed but other brand will be okay right?
- Has anyone with a Egg Card (as opposed to Egg Money) received an email re: any changes?
Regards
Sunil
