A question about : DRO ended, now what?

Hi, my DRO moratorium period ended a couple of weeks ago and I'm just wondering if have to print off copies of my own individual insolvency register as evidence that it's ended and post it to all the companies which I owed money too as proof that it's ended and I've been discharged from my debts?

It's just that one of those companies doesn't exist anymore. They no longer have a website or anything.

What will happen if I don't do anything and just leave it?

Please help.

  • Hi ossop
Congrats on coming through your Debt Relief Order.
You don't need to send any such paperwork to creditors - the default position with a DRO is that your moratorium ends 12 months after it begins unless it is revoked for any reason in the meantime. Your details should drop off the register altogether in under three months' time.
If at any point in the distant future someone contacts you claiming to chase a debt that was in the DRO, you should refer them to the Insolvency Service's DRO Unit.

  • Make sure you are keeping the Debtor's Notice (the Debtnot) that you were sent at the start of the DRO - that is the official confirmation of what went in.
It is a good idea to print off a copy of your entry on the Insolvency Register
Dennis says to refer problems to the DRO Unit, and they are pretty good, and helpful. But they have said that they would prefer the debtor to respond themselves by sending a copy of the debtnot to any debt collector that is still trying to collect
  • Well done on finishing your dro. Sorry to highjack your post just after some information.
Im currently in month 4 of my dro..
Do the insolvancy service ask for any information of you during you dro? Bank statements tax credits letter and so on?
Just asking as my bank account have been closed and the bank wont send me my old statements as they say the account is included in my dro.
Also 1 more iv tried to open a cashminder account with co-op got declined ;( i have asked them to re look at this for me so hopefully will have an account soon
  • Co-op have defiantly declined ME said its due to cifas information....
Problem being I have all 3 upto date credit reports absolutely no cifas information them.
So I'm not sending a sar to cifas to find out what info they have
Coop said something about the application not matching...
On the plus side because the coop bank manager guaranteed to me the account would be open for me they are giving me Ј50 compo that can go towards paying my electric this month kind of a blessing in disguise really.
