A question about : Donate Second Hand Toys
Hi, I've been looking online to find somehwere to donate a load of toys we have, they are all in good condition, I'd just like them to go to a good home.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks
Best answers:
- Children's hospital ward
Ronald MacDonald House (siblings are often forgotten when a child in the family is ill, and RMH gives families a chance to have as close a family life as possible when children are patients in hospital, often some distance from home)
Children's Portage Service (ask at local council)
Toy library, either via Surestart Centre or via Children's Disability Services
Local nurseries or schools
Some charity shops will collect.
I can't find anywhere online though, sorry. - this might be worth having a look at
netmums have a campaign with Barnardos. Sorry, can't post link yet! - Netmums & Barnardos link - https://www.netmums.com/parenting-sup...nd-netmums#how
- This list of initiatives contains a few orgs worth looking at. The list is not exclusively focussed on toy donation, so you'll have to scroll through it to find some that might be suitable for you.
https://helpfromhome.org/category/act...misc-craftwork - You could also contact your local council to donate to a local womens' refuge. The children who arrive there with their mothers can often have nothing more than the clothes they stand up in and perhaps one teddy.
