A question about : Does a ticket to a venue in the Olympic park give full park access

If I buy a ticket for an event, for example waterpolo, which is held at a venue in the Olympic park, does this give me access to the whole park so I can mooch about all day looking at stuff and soaking up the atmosphere or are there dedicated entrances that only give access to the venues for which you have tickets ? I know that tomorrow there will be 'Olympic park access' but wonder if a regular ticket gives the same access plus the event to which you are viewing ???

I see on the map that here are some 'dedicated paths' to venues but hope they aren't fenced in so you can't get anywhere else in the park ?

Any ideas ?

Best answers:

  • Does anyone physically have their tickets at home yet?
When are they meant to be getting sent out?
  • I just ordered 2 x water polo tickets for saturday 4 august. I dont have a great interest in the event (yet!) but at least I get to witness am olympic event in action, have park access for the day and dont have to take any time off work so thanks for the input !
  • Nicka - You've chosen a great day to be in the park - stick around and watch the big screens - Jess Ennis may get her gold in the evening
  • its a pity they chose a signed Tracked
save a lot of hassle without
  • At least they haven't trusted the tickets to a secure courier, like DX.
  • My mum's tickets arrived today. She had a text yesterday from Royal Mail to say they would be coming and would need to be signed for. Her postman came and went - no tickets. I said they probably didn't trust the postmen with them and that they'd have a special van for them. She didn't believe me but I was right. Guy turned up later in a van and his sole job was delivering Olympics tickets.
She then got a text AND an email to say they'd been delivered. Seemed slightly OTT but I can imagine the complaints if they'd gone missing.
  • Just as an update, apparently you can enter Olympic Park two hours before your ticket time, but guess you can stay as long as you like afterwards. This is printed on the ticket supposedly although I haven't seen it in person.
  • Does anyone know if you can get inside the Olympic park even if your event is outside the park? i really need to know, thank you
