A question about : Disabled Working Tax Credit
How much is it and how much income is someone likely to get a month on a part time job on minimum wage for 16 hours? bear in mind they have rent, food, bills and PA costs (about Ј700 a month not including entertainment and what not)
Also what is the criteria? because I was told you needed to be on DLA but I know people who get on ESA because they are still disabled but not enough for DLA/PIP which I think is right because some mental disabilities people can't handle full time work (Aspergers for example which might not get you DLA/PIP)
Best answers:
- If you qualify and for how much depends on you and your partner's joint income. Your outgoings are irrelevant.
You do not have to receive DLA to qualify but will receive more if you qualify for higher rate DLA.
See here, how to calculate how much you may be entitled to > https://www.gov.uk/tax-credits-calculator - You can still get direct payments if the PA is for personal care, if it's for work related issues you might get some help from access to work.
- thanks guys appreciate it.
