Defect for a partial refund?

Hiya
I was wondering, Do you get a defect if you do a parial refund via paypal or only if theres a dispute?

I had a buyer from the US buy an item, then pay. then buy another etc total of 5 items!
Never asked about combined postage but bought and paid each item individually paying Ј3 International P+P (Even though I had it set up for Ј3 for 1st + 50p each additional listing, if he bought and paid all together)

I want to refund the extra p+p but is it OK issuing a refund on just one listing say Ј8 refund from one paypal payment?
Buyer hasn't asked but I can't charge Ј15 postage for something that only cost under Ј5

• I've never had a defect for a partial refund. I think a case has to be opened first for a defect to be given.
