A question about : Dealing with Moorcroft debt recovery

Hello yesterday i received a letter from moorcroft debt recovery passed onto by EE. Now im currently in dispute with EE and i am so mad that they wont deal with the problem with me but instead get these scums to try get their money
Well to cut a long story short I took a contract with EE about 4 months ago. 2 weeks later 2 more contracts were taken out without my knowledge. I phoned them and told them about it. They said they will investigate it. They couldn’t work out where these contracts were taken out from but they still wanted me to pay for them until the investigation was finished. Weeks after weeks, calls after calls no investigation was getting done
So I cancelled the direct debit and didn’t want to pay for the extra contracts.
I have written them letters and also got trading standards involved to try and resolve this problem. I only had one letter from them saying an investigation is in process and that was about 2 months ago.
So after everything I got fed up ringing EE, stressing myself and wasting my house bill that I just gave up
Now I get this letter from Moorcroft debt recovery which something Ive never had before. Could someone give me some advice as to deals with them

thank you

Best answers:

  • Remind them of OFT guidance, specifically 3.7o and 3.9k - this is a disputed debt, it is under investigation by the creditor and the account should remain there until the dispute is resolved.
You can report to OFT and FOS if they continue.
As it's over 8 weeks since you complained, you can also take your dispute to the ombudsman

  • thank your for that will write to them about this
  • Agree with fatbelly.
I would also point out that these people are often referred to as Moroncroft, so don't be surprised if they live up to that name.
  • Send Moorcroft a copy of the letter by EE confirming an investigation is in progress along with your letter as well.
  • Yeah was thinking that as well thanks
