A question about : Credit card repayments
Afternoon
This is my first time on a forum so I apologise in advance if this subject has been covered. I have had a credit card with a high interest for over 2 years now , I have never missed or been late with a payment but I am only managing to cover the minimum payment every month. I have had a bad credit history in the past and I don't feel I would be successful in transferring the debt to a better interest card to allow the money I'm paying to to make a difference and help repay the debt. Can anyone advise in this matter.
Kind regards
Best answers:
- How much debt is on the card? and what is the APR?
How far in the past is your bad credit history? Do you know what shows on your file currently?
It could be worth looking at the online eligibility checker to give you an indication as to whether you would be likely to get accepted for a new 0% card -

Aside from that - have you looked to see how long it will take to repay the debt if you only pay the minimum amount each month? It would then be worth comparing what difference that would be if you could pay even a bit more than the minimum.
