A question about : Confused
So, we used a claims company for a number of PPI claims.
The first one came back with about Ј4000 just before Christmas. They'd already sent us a letter to initiate the claim, but we passed that to the claims company to use.
A short time later, the PPI claim was paid directly to us as a result (I assume) of a claim we already had begun ourselves.
In the meantime, the claims company have written to us asking for more proof of ID for the claim we've already been paid out on.
As a precaution, we've held back a portion of what we've been paid in case the claims company ask for it. But we're at a point where we could use it (baby on the way) and in any case, do they even deserve it? Can they put a legitimate request in for their share of the claim when it was paid directly to us and their own attempts to get the company to pay have stalled over an ID issue?
On one hand they've done some groundwork, but on the other hand, their handling of the claim hasn't been completed. We've been paid out, it's finished.
Do they get anything or is it ours?
Best answers:
- I thought they paid to the claims company first then they paid us.
That's been the basis of my query. It seems we need to pay then.
Even though as far as they're concerned, the claim hasn't been completed or even paid out.
