A question about : Conditional offer for job but not too sure about references

I was recently employed as a call centre customer service adviser, I was sacked from the job for Gross Misconduct. I was gutted because I felt I was doing a good job but I was having trouble following certain policies within the company too many times and had a lot of personal stuff going on in the background. I would agree it was my fault but I feel I wasn't getting the right information sometimes.

I was working in customer service and decided to do a few courses brushing up on customer service and how I can improve as well.

I've recently been for an interview and I heard back from them today and have been given a conditional offer. I didn't get the opportunity while being interviewed to bring the conversation around to why I left the last job and it wasn't brought up after. title=Embarassed

They're looking for two references, I had a job before that (funnily enough another call centre) where I left on good terms and had been there longer though I'm more worried that the more recent employment may be the deal breaker for them.

Any experiences on this? Am I thinking too much in to it?

Best answers:

  • Do you have enough other employment/ schooling to use as references so you dont have to use the most recent employer? Does their form/ letter etc explicitly ask for your most recent employer to be one of your references?
