A question about : commision changed
Hi there everyone, i work in a commission based job and have been getting payed for every job completed 2 weeks after the instal date, i received a email last night saying the commission structure has now changed and will effect this weeks wages (friday-2 days away) the work i get paid for on friday is from jobs installed 2 weeks ago and i dont agree that payments should be changed unless from immediate effect, i have sign a very dodgy contract which seems to cover there back but i dont agree the contract statement is actually legal?? i hope somebody can help me as my wages have dropped over Ј400 for work that has already been carried out 2 weeks ago and 2 days notice is very strange, here is a cut out for the statement in contract that i signed below. any help would be appreciate. ps i am self employed and only receive commission as a income.
:In consideration for the services provided by the Agency/Sub Contractor, the Company shall pay to the Agency/Sub Contractor a fee calculated in accordance with the commission structure currently in Operation & authorised by the ‘Company’ at the point of payment. The Agency/Sub Contractor will negotiate the price for the services and is obliged to honour any agreed price. The ‘Company’ reserves the right to amend the fee/commission structure at any time without notice at its discretion.

If you are truly self employed then you will have a contract for services with the company or individual that supplies your work and they are varying the terms of this agreement. Suggest that you discuss the query in more detail with an agency that specialises in issues concerning self employment.
