  • I find that this stuff: https://www.diy.com/rooms/hg-mould-sp.../136829_BQ.prd works really well on sealant. You may need to apply it repeatedly, but I successfully got some old bath sealant that had pretty much turned black back to a decent (although not perfect) state. I wouldn't attack it with any harsh implements as this is likely to damage it - a cloth or sponge should be enough.
  • Thanks Benjus , i have `discoloured` sealant mainly , rather than dirty , i should have said , i wonder , does this sort of product `buff` up my sealant!
  • sounds like UV light aging, you cant clean it fully, take it off and replace with new, you'll get a much better finish.
  • Another vote to remove and replace.
  • I would definitely try cleaning it before committing to replacing, which can be a tricky thing to get right.
Wilkinson do a Mould and Mildew remover that is quite effective, and it's only 85p, too.
  • Thanks all.....as ever
  • In the bathrooms I cover a bit of tissue with bleach and push that against the mouldy spots, within 2-3 hours they will have been bleached white again.
  • I've literally just done some of the grout in my shower which was going off white and towards the bottom yellowy orange. I tried quite a few different things including vinegar, bicarb of soda and Dettol mould and mildew spray but the best thing was thick bleach. I used one with a nozzle and let it run down vertically down the groove and used a kids' paint brush to apply it to the horizontal grout. You could try that perhaps.
