A question about : Claiming charges off logbook loans

I got a loan from logbook about 5 years ago and they added about Ј500 in charges will i be able to claim any of this back and if so how

  • On what basis would you be looking to get them back? What charges are they?
  • I was going through a bad time financially and they were changing Ј12 a call and Ј12 a letter and I think this is excessive
  • Unfortunately for you, it doesnt matter what you think. You cannot complain about charges being unfair or excessive. The banks wont that argument in 2009.
    And, to be honest, Ј12 is not excessive for work carried out. Cumulatively it could add up to a lot but in isolation, that is not too bad.
    You are welcome to make a case to them if you are in financial hardship and ask them to consider refunding some of those charges to make it easier to repay the debt. However, under no circumstances should you mention unfair or excessive or words similar to that.
