A question about : Christmas 2013 stamps
I have unearthed a few 2nd class stamps from Christmas last year. Anyone know if these are still valid?
Thanks.
Best answers:
- Yes indeed!
- ALL decimal stamps - all the way back to 1971 - are still valid, though only at face value, so you'd need to stick 21 of that year's first class stamps on one card this year!
Any old stamps you have which are just marked "1st" or "2nd", though, will still be honoured, regardless of how much you paid for them at the time. - Thank you both. A little bit of money saved then!
- I bought a large number of stamps before the major price rise a couple of years ago, all marked 1st and 2nd class (no monetary value shown). Everything has been fine until around April this year when suddenly letters and cards sent using these stamps started to take an exceptionally long time to arrive.
Typically a letter posted using an older 1st class stamp would take around 10-14 days to arrive...so if you'd like your cards to arrive on time best post in the next couple of days at the latest.
Good luck! - Don't worry. Posted the middle of last week. We are away for two weeks over Christmas so I have had to be super organized this year.
