A question about : Chessington HOliday Inn

I have just booked in here...but when I saw the price for the breakfasts thought :O. Does anyone know anywhere near here for meals etc?

Best answers:

  • You can buy breakfast tickets at reception which are about half the price quoted for the restaurant. Children can eat free so if you are a family it works out very reasonably and the breakfast will set you up for the day. They also have special offers on evening meals though the choice may be quite limited. The drinks prices may be very expensive, though.
  • Thanks - I also found out that because I have a MErlin annual pass we get 20% off meals
  • any more ideas nearby?
  • last ditch attempt...as I am going tomorrow
  • I was suprised by the standard of the hotel. Very very good for a holiday inn. Be careful though, all the prices they quote exclude VAT. You can get breakfast vouchers from reception and also family meal deal vouchers. I think breakfast for 4 of us worked out at about Ј22 which isnt bad, two course evening meal for 4 of us was around Ј30, again not bad. There is a pub and premier lodge on the other side of the park but not sure about breakfast.
  • I know i'm a pain....but does anyone know if they supply you with towels for using the pool etc.......our case is a bit full now!!!
  • there is a wetherspoons pub at the far end of the road (turn left out of chessington), but it doesnt open til 9am, so cutting it a bit fine, if you want to be back at the park, when it opens - but you can get a full english breakfast for Ј3-Ј4 there, or toast/jam for about 80p
or there is a tescos about a 15min drive from the park (again head up in the direction of the wetherspoons, then go right onto the dual carriageway)
but compared to other theme parks, chessington is quite reasonably priced for food, once in the park. There is an eat/drink all you can pizza/pasta buffet for about Ј8 an adult and Ј4 a child (accepts merlin pass too, so even cheaper)

  • Got back last night.....hotel was fab - although no sign of breakfast vouchers. The Weatherspoons was great, and yup, the food in the parks (chessington and Thorpe) was unexpectedly reasonable. Thanks for all the advice :=)
