A question about : celebrity slim

I'm looking to loose a few pounds after the junk i've been eating the last few weeks. Just seen this advertised on tv, has anyone tried it?

Best answers:

  • It looks a bit like the Cambridge diet, but it seems more expensive, could it be made in the same factory, as Lighter Life is, maybe someone will come along with some information
  • just found this
    https://www.minimins.com/celebrity-sl...irst-week.html
  • I think it's totally different to lighter life, I wouldn't even attempt that diet for 500 cals a day, it's absurd!
from what I've researched, celebrity slim is made by a pharmaceutical company in Austrailia and just come over to this country. saw it in my local chemist and it looks really good and think the price is reasonable, compared to a diet such as lighter life. I've been on the austrailian website and the forum is really possitive. It's not a fad diet, it's a meal replacement and it's not about starving yourself, which is so important.
Think I might give it a go Monday, will let you kow how I got on....
  • Hi
First off I will state that I have no personal gain from this brand selling well, I work (in a low position) for the Pharmacy it is exclusive to, but I am about to go on maternity leave (check out sig) and most likely won't be returning!!! So I am not trying to promote this product.
BUT i saw this post and thought I might share some knowledge about the product.
A lady who works at our head office has been trialling this for us prior to it's release, and has lost 7stone on it, she says she doesn't feel hungry or lethargic on it, as you are allowed several snacks throughout the day.
We have had several customers who have bought it and returned after the first week with varying losses of between 3lb-9lb all have then gone on to lose the second week in the region of 2lb-5lb and in the third week the losses were pretty much the same as the second.
It seems, it does work.....I haven't 'yet' heard any bad reviews on it, however I still have 2wks left in work so if I hear anything negative I will come back and report to you..
Good Luck if you do decide to try it.

  • I was doing some googling on celebrity slim, and the reviews on this site were what persuaded me to purchase a some https://www.productreview.com.au/show...?item_id=48944 If I can lose 6-7 pounds from this (combined with some exercise) I'll be happy Their 7 day meal replacement shakes pack work out to be Ј1.79 per meal, which is pretty good imo.
The only reputable online retailer I could find that stocked this is rolandspharmacy.co.uk, but they whack on a Ј3.95 special delivery charge unless you spend Ј75 or more >
  • I think it is marginally more expensive than Cambridge, but maybe they have different flavours
  • Started this diet on Sunday and have lost 2 pounds so far. Dont feel very hungry but want a cooked meal by evening. I have been snacking on veg and fruit and limiting my coffee and diet drinks. It has not been very hard to follow and the drinks are delicious. I also really like the soups. I have only tried the chicken and the beef flavours but they are very tasty. I also suffer a bit from IBS so quite often I cannot eat the packet soups, I can however eat the Celebrity Slim soups with no ill effects. I would continue to buy the soups even if I stopped the diet purely for this reason. I am hoping to lose a stone or so on this diet so holds thumbs for me!
  • saw the advert on tv too, have just ordered some- quite expensive but hopefully worth it!!
tried the lighter life one last year and i was really ill with it- collapsed etc etc, so was really quite warey of this one-at least you can have 1 meal though!! the other comments helped me to make up my mind. i had a little boy in march last year and put on about 5 stone when pregnant- hopefully lose about 6 stone with this. all sounds good so far what iv heard anyway- il let you know!! ill be starting it next week so, fingers and toes etc crossed please!!xx
  • Does anyone know if this diet is suitable for vegetarians at all?
    Thank you
    Nicola
  • Hi nicola.21
We were told at the meeting that it is suitable for vegetarians, except of course, any of the meaty flavoured soups...
Still heard nothing but praise for this plan, so far.

  • Hi I also work 4 Rowlands and am doing the diet myself with a number of the other shop girls. For evening meal ideas visit the irish celebrity slim site as it has loads of receipies. So far the results have been great and i'm finding it quite easy during the week but harder at weekends -i've been adding fizzy water to my white wine to eek it out longer makes it look like champagne.
  • Hi salesshopper.
It is good that a few of you are doing it together. It will help you all stay motivated.
I can't go on it as I am pregnant, our area manager is on it though and says it is easy to follow and stick to. And has says the chocolate and the mocha shakes are lovely warm!!!

  • wow, excellent feedback.
i got my free shake monday via a magazine coupon and I choose chocolate. I was offered to go on a free weight management programme by the staff, have a weigh in every week etc. (I kindly declined because I just want to loose a few extra xmas pounds, but great idea! you have to pay with weight watchers lol!)
I loved the chocolate shake and I purchased a starter pack which gave me a free shaker, diary and starter programme, also two soups to try for free, as well as the various flavoured shakes. I also tried the chocolate cereal bar. very filling!! according to the plan, you can eat one as a meal, or half as a snack. Tasted nicer than I expected, and took ages to finish. that filled me up more than anything!
I've increased my water intake too, which is a good thing, I'm sure I never used to drink enough. The staff told me that I may experience headaches during my first week, due to my body adjusting to the change of diet, but no to worry, just to make sure I drink enough water. The little diary I got free with the starter pack has a section to keep track of how much fluid you've consumed as well as what you've eaten... handy.
Must say not feeling hungry or deprived on the plan, but I really look forward to my evening meal - mostly becuase I take more care and use more imagination - much more varied than what I used to cook!
  • Hi just want to report my first weeks loss me 5lb (i've only got a stone to lose) my boyfriend 10 1b (he has a lot more to lose) . So far so good really enjoying my evening meals and like the shakes not fussed on choc bars tried all the soups apart from tomatoe and they are good too. Boyfriend likes the bars at work as they are discreet (think he takes them out of the extremely girly packaging)
  • I have also lost 5 pounds in my first week. I have not cheated once on this diet which is a first for me. I am starving for my evening meal though but I think it is because I have not chewed much during the day. I dont really like chewing gum so if I need something I have been nibbling on carrots ect. Here to week 2!
  • Hi Guys
I also saw this advertised on TV and a friend at work said he was going to try it. Thought I'd have a look myself to see what it was all about. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems to me that it's very much to the same as Slim Fast, 2 x replacement meals and then a balanced evening meal. I had a look at the price and the shakes are about Ј25 for the week where you can buy a Slim Fast milkshake tub which has about 12 x meals for about Ј5. I'm also wanting to lose some weight and the idea of meal replacements seems ideal, especially when working and then at least I can enjoy an evening meal. Can you tell me what would be the best, as far as I can see they are both the same but Slim Fast a lot cheaper?
    Thanks
  • You'd have been better off joining us low carbers on the low carb thread!
what happens when the meal replacement stops and you go back onto proper food?
