A question about : BT lost account
My mum has recently died and I have found a direct debit to BT for Ј14.27. BT cannot find any information when I give them the reference number. I have obviously cancelled the direct debit but it looks like she has been paying this for years!! Is there anyway I can find out what this is for or try and claim the money back?? Do I just have to let it go?? Appreciate any advice
Best answers:
- Push BT, as if they have been taking the money then their accounts department should be able to trace what it is for
- Thank you, I will do. They keep saying they can't trace the reference number that the bank have given me . I hope the bank may be able to help their end !
- You would think they could manage to find a record if they had a name, and address and a telephone number.
- To state the obvious, did she have a BT phone line, and if so, what services? If that's a monthly charge, it's probably a line rental charge, since she'd need to have a working line in order to have any other BT services.
Or did she used to have a BT line?
