A question about : Birchbox

Hiya,

Birchbox is a monthly subscription service. You pay each month and they send you a selection of product samples to try out. The boxes are Ј10 per month (plus p+p) and they say the products always exceed this value.

I have to admit I'm not really a make up person and some of the samples I have received have not been for me, but mostly they have been lovely. I got a lovely full size conditioner once and some fab sparkly red nail polish in December - perfect for Christmas. Not sure what I'm going to do with a cell-u-cup though and I have no idea what pore refiner is...

• Good idea to post a referral thread! I really like Birchbox, though I was sceptical at first. I got a subscription at a pretty big discount using Livingsocial and was happily surprised to find that it is actually useful to me, and fun to receive. In addition to the monthly box subscription, there's an e-shop which has a decent range.
  You get 4-5 items in each box (I think I've always gotten 5). Best parts of Birchbox for me:
  - Travel sizes! You'll build up a good store of travel-sized stuff without going out of your way to find miniatures of a range of items.
  - It's fun to try new things, especially if you're into skincare, haircare and/or make-up.
  - They do include some natural and organic lines.
  - Some of the new brands you've never heard of turn out to be good and you might not have come across them otherwise.
  - It's not all new launches - brands like Laura Mercier and Benefit also pop up.

  PS - Pore refiner is a make-up primer but can be worn alone. It basically fills in pores, making your skin look smoother. The recent Dr. Brandt one from the boxes is quite good, I'd say, just as good or better than Benefit's Porefessional. I general wear primer / pore refiner instead of foundation. Just be sure to cleanse well or you will gunk up your pores overnight.

• Using my referral link to register, we will both get 50 points worth Ј5 in our account! You need to collect 100 points to use them in the birchbox shop. Each time you complete a survey for a product you have received in your birchbox you get 5 points and you receive 1 point for every Ј1 you spend in birchbox boxes or birchbox shop.
  So a 6 month subscription that costs Ј50 will give you 50 points, using the refferal link will give you 50 points more (100 points already equivalent to Ј10!) and each month there are available 7 surveys (7x5=35 points per month, 35x6=210 points for a 6 month subscription).
