A question about : Best way to spend in Belize?
I'm off to Belize City for 3 weeks. What's the best way to get some spending money?
I have a Clarity credit card. My plan was to pay for as much stuff on the card as possible, and overpay it and use it to withdraw cash while I'm there.
However, I've read that a lot of places in Belize charge extra for taking payments by credit card so I might be better using cash.
I'm also wary about using my credit card for cash withdrawals because every time I have done this in the past I have been charged at least a months worth of interest even though I've done an online payment for the amount withdrawn the same day (because the amounts have been small, the interest is less than the cost of a stamp or phone call to complain).
I considered the ukash prepaid card, but I would get charged for using it in Belize because the transaction wouldn't be done in US dollars. ATMs in Belize won't give out US dollars as far as I'm aware.
Has anyone else got any bright ideas?

- I am also planning a trip to Belize at the end of the year and was wondering if you have researched your flights yet. If so are you getting the same as me in that I can only find flights that say the outward flight takes 24 hours but the return flight is 13 and a half hours.
If you are successfully booked I would appreciate it if you could let me know what carrier or trip site you found best.
Sorry I can't answer your question as the only south american country I have visted is Costa Rica. My Halifax Clarity card worked out fine there. - It would appear that outward flights have an overnight stop changing planes - in the US for example
On the return trip that night is spent travelling
