A question about : Back to work grant

When I went back to work in June after 17 years as a carer and 1 as "unemployed" I had to sort out the wrangle between the tax office and the DWP as to who was responsible for sorting out my tax.

Anyway this resulted in an hours wait at a DWP benefits office along with the drunks and druggies demanding their Giro's at the top of their voice it did how ever as it seems turn out to be an hour well spent.

A question about : Mysterious Payment from DWP

Just checked my on-line banking like I do every day, and a payment of ten pounds has been paid in from the DWP which just says DWP XB BGC. I have absolutely no idea what this is, no letter etc. I already receive Incapacity Benefit, and that was paid in yesterday, so it's not that.

Any ideas?

A question about : Milk Tokens (Information)

The Department of Health has taken over sending milk tokens out from the DWP from 1st November 2004.

I found this out today as i hadn't had any milk tokens since 1st November and I know quite a number of my friends haven't had any for a few weeks too. The number to ring if you have any problems with receiving your milk tokens is 0845 8501032. The number appears to be constantly engaged and when you do get through it rings and rings and rings until someone bothers to answer it.

I work full time and I have just been given 3 months notice of redundancy. Is there a phone number I can talk to someone and find out what i am enititled to? I need to know exact amounts - as long as I know figures I wont panic so much.
