A question about : Being a senior assistant- makes no sense.

It makes no sense that someone should be a senior assistant as you are not a manager or team leader, as far as I can tell it seems a meaningless title to have.

Best answers:

  • well, you should know about meaningless.

    ps darn, i replied!
  • I imagine that a senior sales assistant would have more responsibilities and therefore get paid more than a normal sales assistant. So not totally meaningless is it.
  • You would think a senior person would be in charge rather than just having more tasks to do.
  • Bored again SP??
Go and find an historical society to join - and a rambling club. More rambling inthe great outdoors, less rambling on here!!
  • Haven't we done this already?
  • I can't believe I'm actually wasting time on this but here goes...........
I have two assistants, one is more senior than the other i.e. they have more responsibility. The one with more responsibility is called my senior assistant. They both have career development paths in place which means the more senior one is being groomed for management within the next two years - possibly in my department, possibly in another. The other assistant is being trained to move into the senior role when a vacancy becomes available. My senior assistant is a very long way from being in charge - that's my role - but I recognise her contribution to my team which is why she is more senior of the two.
Why don't you stop wasting everyone's time and get out and live a life instead of asking incessant questions on here about what that life could or should be like.
  • I think senior assistants need a degree!
