A question about : Bathroom Renovation

Looking to do a bathroom renovation asap. Its a small bathroom.

Looking at getting a whole suite and tiling all over inc floor.

We have a good network of tradesmen so we would be looking to use different people for the different parts etc.

Not looking for anything too fancy. Just a nice modern tiled room really.

Any advice or tips would be great.

One thing I am looking to find out is overall costs inc everything

Best answers:

  • Depends on actual size. My bathroom is 3x1.5m and is tiled floor to ceiling. Parts and suite, shower and bath screen vanity, mirror, towel rail, roller ,blind, tiles, adhesive, grout and silicone, taps and all plumbing parts cost me just under 2k. This was by shopping around for the designer kit that darling wife wanted.
Labour was free as it is what I do for a living. However, my next door neighbour saw ours and wanted the same exact bathroom (wife accepted, but not amused by this copying). I charged him Ј1500 to completely strip, re-plumb the room, tile and fit everything. Took me 3 weeks on my own due to awkward location. I live in the North West, for labour further south it will be a lot more. Hope this gives you a ball park figure and good luck.
  • Are you looking at changing layout?
We paid 5k but that was for moving around layout, strip out, redo, wetroom style shower, tweaking electrics (and taking down the ceiling to do it in the end)
