A question about : Barclays bank problem
This is my first post, sorry if it is in the wrong forum.
A very Brief outline
I had a phone call from Barclays in the middle of December telling me that they had paid my barclaycard 9999.99 (without my authorisation) in January (almost a year ago) and I now need to pay them back.
I'm just wondering if any one has ever heard of anything like this happening before. Are banks allowed to lend you money without telling you?
Best answers:
- So your Barclaycard was used to spend monies to the sum of Ј9999.99?
They are not lending money without telling you, you have applied for the card and you are responsible for what is spent on the card providing the transactions are not fraudulent. - Or are you saying that Barclay's credited your card with Ј9999.99 and as a result you haven't had to pay for any of the spending you've done on the card since then as you've always had a positive balance, and that Barclays are now asking you to make that payment?
If this is what you're trying to tell us, then I find it highly unlikely to have happened and without more evidence that it's true I'm saying no more.
