A question about : Are we allowed to name and shame

I have recently worked for a couple of agencies, each one for just one day each. Neither of them paid me.

Are we allowed on here to name and shame companies that do not pay staff, to allow job seekers to make an informed choice if to work for them of not.

Best answers:

  • There are no forum rules against naming and shaming, indeed there is a sub-forum set up for it, though if its prudent to is another matter and ultimately the forum may decide to delete it if it received a complaint from those you're complaining about
  • Your allegation may well be disputed.
  • Worked for me, when I reported a job vacancy (that was below NMW) listed by an agency, recently on a CV website (I made complaint to the website hoster and they replied that they would ask the company to revise their ad)
Hope you get something like my starsign today (which is always a day in arrears it would seem lol!!)
You're determined to get justice for an unfair situation. Fortunately, you're both intelligent and diplomatic. A public official will be impressed by an appeal you send to their office. Although you won't get an immediate response, there will be movement on this issue. In the meantime, you should create a group dedicated to dealing with this matter. There is strength in numbers. The more people you inspire to stand up for their rights, the faster a fair ruling will be delivered.
  • Yes, Name and shame, It will show agency workers who these muppets are and hopefully will be avoided like the plague
