A question about : Anyone used Claim and Gain Ltd? Scam?

I was contacted today by a company who told me that I was able to claim for mis-sold mortage fees. At first I thought it was PPI but it not that. Claim and Gain Ltd are on the Justice website as bonefide claim agents. But I have never heard of this type of claim. They also claim to be able to get credit card fees to. I was put off when they aske for my Credit card details to confirm my address to send out their claim package. (I of course did not give them the key information). As I have had a number of properties and mortgages this seemed to be a potential refunding mechanism I had missed. On the down side I couldn't find their website only a face book page. Is this a scam?
Any advice welcome.
Thanks!

  • Of course it's a scam, which succeeds with those who let their greed exceed their better judgement. Why on earth should they need your credit card details to confirm your address?
  • CLAIM & GAIN LTD
    3RD FLOOR PRINCESS HOUSE
    PRINCESS WAY
    SWANSEA
    WALES
    SA1 3LW
    Company No. 07799165

    SWANSEA - SCAM CMC CAPITAL.
Director Timothy Mark Schubert - also director of Cerys-Angharad Limited (trading as Ifonic),
Cerys-Angharad was banned from cold calling so it seems they have got round this by simply setting up another company.
  • Thanks for the info, I thought it was suspicious. They went as far as emailing through Power of Attorney forms, a customer service number and an estimate of the likely refunds. I cant make up my mind if they are just over zealous claims agents or a more sinister and sophisticated credit card scammer.
Their reason for the credit card request was to ensure that any refund was sent to the correct person to avoid any fraudulent claims. It is a well known sales tactic to create more reasons to agree to purchase - someone else might claim your refund. This was when I started to get suspicious.
