A question about : Any Female Gamers?

Gaming seems to very male dominated world - I get a lot of shocked reactions when I say I have a PS2/PS3 and play GTA (I'm 26 so not that young)

So are there any other female gamers on here?

ET change title

Best answers:

  • All of my female freinds either have a xbox or ps3 and when we all play cal of duty in a party its the girls who are swearing and shouting die die die
  • I am sure there are of course, I know quite a few though they tend to keep their proclivities a secret. (or at least their photos lol)
  • Not any more but I used to be a kick-!!! counterstrike player on the PC a few years ago. I used to play competitively in different leagues and took it all very seriously.
Great times but something I grew out of
  • I think girls are so rare on call of duty that if one speaks with a mic all the lads go quite or leave xD
  • Last time I spoke on Call Of Duty some Geordie asked me if my dad wears a flat cap cos I'm from Yorkshire. I asked him if his dad is Cheryl Cole.
    True story!
I don't talk on games like that it's not worth it. It gets weird and then it gets racist. So many racist emblems on there. It's so sad :/
Anywho yep, female gamer here. I read IGN every day and I have a GTA poster on my living room wall (the first game, before Rockstar was even called Rockstar!)
I have another female gamer friend. She plays PC stuff though. I play console nowadays. Her faves are Borderlands and Bioshock. My male gamer friends all love Skyrim. I like that too. But it's probably the only game every single male gamer I know has and loves. Even the casual ones! Weird.
The girls I know who are only casual gamers all play CoD. Go figure!
  • Im from doncaster *high five*
Also you are right last night i was in a lobby and all this one guy was saying was so racist and then a big argument followed
  • I am also on the look-out for a game female
  • I'm a girl gamer (I'm 25). I got into gaming rather late (at the age of 17/18) due to my boyfriend at the time insisting that I get into it, best thing he ever did in our relationship .
I've never had any adverse reactions to my hobby, but I'm mainly friends with like minded people, or more 'open minded' people I guess. I was also an art and media (among other subjects) student in college, designing game mods and other animated things as part of my diplomas so I was in a class of like minded girls (and boys of course) which was an advantage. My OH now is also a gamer.
  • I am a gamer but more old school nintendo and online games. I am a huge World of Warcraft fan, been playing for years and have been obscenely addicted, taking a break from it at the moment but no doubt i'll be back soon
  • I am a gamer, mainly ps3 and xbox, have been into gaming for many years, i'm now 46! My 19 yr old daughter is also into gaming and prefers the xbox.
Girlinstatic, I remember buying Nintendo many years ago, played all the supermario games, they were fantastic!
  • Did anyone ever play monkey island on PC? Thought they were great, many hours of fun!
  • I'm a bit of a gamer. Used to play a lot of PC games as a child/teen, but other than The Sims I don't use the PC much for gaming now. I occasionally go back to some kind of Tycoon game.
Our house is full of consoles. I collect retro Sega games, OH collects retro Nintendo, and we have all the modern consoles as well.
I don't play the modern stuff so much, though. The Fable series, definitely, but other than that when it comes to modern stuff I'm the stereotypical girl games and will play Disney games and Kinectimals.
  • I'm a 23 year old girl who has owned every console made for the last 15 years
Is anyone else a Trophy/Achievement !!!!!? I'm at 33 platinum trophies on the PS3 and hoping to get 50 by the PS4 release date.
I started playing when I was 5 years old, I was given a cast of sega mega drive and a few games, Mortal Kombat was the best
My all time favourite games are:
    - Mega Bomber Man
    - Sol Feace
    - Theme Park
    - Harry Potter 2 on PS2 (other versions were different)
    - Black and White 2
    - Devil May Cry 4
    - Roller Coaster Tycoon series
    - Infamous series
    - Assassin's Creed series
    - Anything that Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer had a hand in
  • Me me me!
Started off with a mega drive, moved on to original Playstation then PC. Played Rogue Spear and Urban Ops into the night. Had to stop once I had my daughter as sleep became a requirement.
Moved on to PS2 about 4 yrs later and now XBox 360. I don't speak on mics any more because of the squeaky young american kids. My daughter now games too, we love Left for Dead 2!
    I am 39
  • Have people read https://www.notinthekitchenanymore.com/
She records the crap that gets said to her over voice com on XBox when playing CoD.
I rarely play competitive FPS, and then it's TF2 on the PCGamer servers
/female, don't much care who knows it, but I use an avatar, not a photo online.
