A question about : Advice on courier please

I want to buy a footstool on ebay but as usual it is at the other end of the country, (Isn't it always) and collect only.

It weighs around 10 kilos and cheapest courier I can find is Ј50 which means there is no point me bidding.

Other people are offering similar things and offering economy postage of Ј10

So question is this who are they using if they can offer del for Ј10?

Best answers:

  • Is the buyer letting you arrange a courier? risky for the buyer if something goes wrong as they have no paperwork.
I have just posted an 18 kg large box for just over Ј13 with interlink direct making use of their Ј5 off first order offer, the advantage being that I can drop the item off at their depot rather than waiting all day.
  • That will be Darren bush the owner then !
  • Darren, your middle initial wouldn't be "K" by any chance would it?
  • As mentioned www.parcelmonkey.com and www.interparcel.com and others will help you find far cheaper couriers. Just put in the weight and dimensions and they will give you a range of couriers to choose from.
Saying that, it sounds like My Hermes would do this for Ј7.50 or Ј10 depending if it is below or above 10kg. It should fit in their size restrictions no problem. Go direct www.myhermes.co.uk
  • Last post 03/06/2013. Im sure the OP could have walked there and back by now.
Avoid Darren Bush. (DKB) Mr Spammer.
  • I imagine the high quote the OP has is a service where they pick up the item as it is and protect it in the van with blankets, etc. Any cheap service will want the stool protected with packaging in a box. Is the seller willing to do this?
