A question about : Adding middle name for son
Hello.
My wife and I wish to add a middle name to our sons name.
I was looking at completing a deed poll with the court but it seems quite long winded, having to complete a statutory declaration, complete an affidavit of best interest etc.
I was thinking about using an online service and was wondering if they are any good and fully legal, ie Lawpack, or www.thelegaldeedpollservice.co.uk.
They seem well reviewed and inexpensive and was wondering for ease and convenience would they be ok?
Many regards anyway
Rob
Best answers:
- Why do you want to?
- My wife used DEEd poll to change her first and last name and at the same time remove the middle name. which is in essence the same as what you want to do i.e. change the name. we did it on an A4 piece of paper, signed by two non-related witnesses.
90% of orgnaisations accepted this (including UK border agency and dvla for issuing new passport and licence). Though one of my friends had trouble getting Halifax accept similar document. - How old is your son?
- Baptism, if you haven't got around to it already, is a handy way? (If within 12 months of registering the birth, though.)
