2015: Sell Ј1000

This is a challenge I wish to set myself for 2015 and I thought is might be good to open it up to others. Personally, I'm rubbish at selling things or making extra pennies, although I'm quite good at not spending them!

So this takes me far out of my comfort zone!

If you would like to join me in this venture, post your name and the amount you want to get in 2015 through selling off your stuff.

  I joined the ebay challenge but no one seems to be posting on there. I'm really rubbish at making extra pennies, yet seem to have endless amounts of 'preloved' items I need to be rid of. We're planning to live in Scotland the next academic year so need loads less stuff and loads more savings!
  So, I commit to making Ј1000 extra towards the savings by next September.

  I guess, as regards posting here, we'll just post as and when we sell something, and total it up through the year. I'll probably start in Jan - although if a sneaky sale creeps in in December, I'll definitely include it!

  I'd love to join this challenge! I have so much stuff lying around the house, and need to pay for a wedding and clear the last of my debt.
  Can you put me down for Ј1,500 please?
• Nothing sold yet. A couple of bits are finishing today (no bibs yet) and a few BIN items with a couple of weeks left. Might not list anything in the run up to Christmas.
  Thinking about putting things on turbo-lister and wait for a free listing weekend to come along.

  ilovetea - sorry, can't advise at all on eeebey as I don't even have an account or one of those paypal thingies!
• ilovetea, I think most people are concentrating on Christmas stuff at the moment so things might be slow if you're not selling those sort of items. Then after Christmas, everyone lists their unwanted pressies!
  Mind you, if it's free listing maybe it doesn't matter if it doesn't sell first time?
  I've got one item up on gumtree at the moment.... see what happens
• Defo wait for a free listings weekend, ilovetea. Then Fleabay should relist items three times for free if they don't sell first time round. I'd agree that it's probably not the best time to sell now (unless the items are new with tags etc.) I'd hold out till January when I'm sure they'll be loads of bargain hunters searching for unwanted gifts and the like.
  Think I'll start my selling in January too, apple. So much going on at the mo!

  What a great idea for a challenge.
  This year I sold off all the easy the sell high value items in our home and have struggled since the summer to be bothered to sell any of the smaller harder to sell items.
  I have 10k of debt left to kill next year and need to get very clever with my debt killing skills.
  This challenge might give me the incentive to get selling lots of smaller items to see how I can get them to add up.
  I think Ј1000 is a good round number to aim for, so please sign me up.
