A question about : 01618505451 do not answer!

Had three calls from this number, obviously wondered if it was comp related.

A HORRIBLE high pressure woman trying to get sensitive details from me. Really pushy, I've saved the number as a spammer.

Thought this might help someone.

Best answers:

  • Thanks for the heads up !!
  • Yucky PPI scam people, I've just searched that number and found this https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01618505451/38 lots (38 pages) of people being bugged by that number.
  • Just found on another forum:
This number originates to 'HYC - Help Your Claim Ltd' in Manchester. They are a mis-sold ppi company. Not a comping site,
I have a dedicated mobile for carp, i only give this number for comping so i know when its been passed on (even though I always tick the NO boxes grrr). If they phone once I always save the number with the name of caller so next time I can see who is calling and not bother to answer!
    Thanks though
  • I am registered with the TPS service and when I get these type of calls (usually PPI related from India) instead of losing my temper and hanging up I tell them that they are acting illegally by ringing me without consent and suggest that they remove my number from their data base. It usually works !

  • send number by text to spam 7726

  • I received a call from this company today; a girl with a strong Mancunian accent.
Approximately 4 hours earlier I had placed an order with a Manchester based company.
I rarely order over the web.
I have e-mailed said company and will be looking into this further.
Please note that any individual can re-claim PPI, you do not have to pay a company to carry out this service for you. For further details look at the Citizens Advice website adviceguide.org.uk
  • play them at their own game - if they ring, just keep saying YES to everything they ask - i got 90 seconds out of the last one before he realised - you'd be surprised how long 90 seconds can take!
  • Thanks for the heads up, I rarely enter my landline number for competitions but I've been getting a few phonecalls lately, just registered with the TPS thanks to pompeypaul25
    providing the link
My brother usually answers the phone and proceeds to question the caller about their mothers maiden name, last 4 digits of their card and the street they grew up in! Usually gets them off the phone pretty quickly
  • I had a call from them the other day and told them I already claimed back all my PPI money and that was that, lol.
  • other numbers from this company are
    01614293340
    07837710992
    07837710962
They have all rang my number over the space of about 4 days and all belong to the same company. I have told them to remove my number and so far so good! I think it came about from a competition entry as that is the only way I give this number to anyone. Hope this helps some people.
PS I did get really excited when I saw the missed calls as I thought I had won something and as it was late at night I googled the numbers
  • Yes send the number to 7726
I also block the caller I'm sure most phones can do this now
So if they do phone me again it goes straight to answer phone,
    My phones a htc.
  • Aw thanks for that
  • i get them from 01792211846 and 01792211847 constantly i just answer it and put on speaker and let them waffle to themselves before they realise no one there
  • On phones like Galaxy S2/3 and Sony Xperia if you save the number you can "send all calls to voicemail" which helps I find.
the 0161 number has just called me!
  • They keep harrassing me with calls too
Flippin Optimax keep calling me too. I don't even need glasses, so don't need laser eye surgery. Might wind them up next time, maybe try the yes thing that someone previously posted
  • I have received a phone call from this number, some man was trying to talk to me but it was hard to understand because he was in a crowded place.
From what I gathered, he was trying to tell me that I am eligible for some sort of refunds from bank who have misused my credit card money and now I could claim a refund.
At first I tried to understand what kind of refund is he talking about, but then I realized this must be a scam because it didn't sound serious with all these noises in the background.
On top of this- he didn't know which bank I was with- so how could he possibly know if I'm eligible for refund?
After me telling him I'm not interested, he started trying to get information about which bank i was using, he was really quite pushy until I told him that we should end the conversation.
I think the intention of the call was to get information about my bank accounts.
No need to pick up next time!
  • Yep these idiots have rang me too in a rude way
  • I registered our landline with the tps a long time ago and just clicked on the link on this thread to check and yes, we're still registered.
On average in the week I get between 2 and 4 calls a day most days yet I always tick the boxes (or don't tick the boxes) to say I don't want anyone contacting me.
Most calls have no number when I do 1471 (doesn't display numbers on our home phone) so I would be unable to report them but I think i'll have to start reporting those that do as it's getting ridiculous.
Had one the other week who said he just wanted to ask me four questions so I was nice and said ok (after all they are just doing their job) but after seven or eight questions I stopped him and said no more, sorry and hung up! Had some really nasty PPI people who have been really rude and talk to you like your stupid.
Yes, will be reporting them from now on!
