A question about : When should I chase an application?

I applied for the M&S credit card via the MSE site for an additional offer and was told they hope to get back to me within 48 hours but as they are seeing increasing applications it could be between 2-5 days. This was 12 days ago, at what point is it reasonable to chase an application or try to get an update on it's status?

A question about : post office balance transfer

Does anybody here use a post office credit card? I'm wanting to do a balance transfer with them, but can't find anywhere on the site to do so, anyone know?

A question about : Credit Score And More

Hi there,

I have a query into my credit score, I am looking to move out and have been told i may have my credit score checked. Im 21 and still have no clue how to make it better. Its a bad score because i used to have a gym membership along with other things that i didn't pay when i was out of work.
I've been told to get a credit card and buy something then pay it off. Its not like short on money so i could do that but i just really need help whether i should go ahead and get one or do something else.

At the moment I have two credit cards with large balances (seen in my signature).

My barclaycard is mostly interest free until February 2016 (Ј1283.80 of it is gaining at 18.9% APR) and virgin again is mostly interest free until October 2016 (Ј909.44 is gaining interest at 18.9% APR).

A question about : Santander 123 Cashback Card

Hi All,

Just a quick question - I can't seem to find an answer on the Santander website.

I have a 123 Credit card, which I am currently stoozing @ 0% on.

Due to a repeat payment I overlooked, I am currently over my credit limit by 82p (Ј2500 limit), balance being Ј2500.82.

How much will I be charged for this? I had a look on the FAQ but could not find an answer.

Not sure if i would be in a buffer period due to the small amount over credit limit.

A question about : Living overseas

I have an English bank account into which I have a widows paid into. The thing is we cannot get better deals on cedit cards - not on local council lists in England. And because we are not residents where we live we cannot get them here either. Anyone got any ideas or are we stuck with the situation.

A question about : Verified by Visa password has to be renewed every 30 days

Having had another run in with Barclaycard over its Verified by Visa password checking system, I have now been advised by the BC internet team that the password used for VbV must be changed every 30 days. If it is not, next time you use the card it will be blocked.

Go Figure.

A question about : Pay Pal's own credit card sends emails

I see from a This Is Money Newsletter that Pay Pal's own credit card sends you an email every time your PP credit card is used.
This seems a simple, but very good piece of security and a convenience.
With similar for my debit card I would feel a good deal more secure.

If anyone has personal experience of Pay Pal's own credit cards please add some details, I have been through the MSE Credit Card Forum threads for Pay Pal, but haven't found anything about emails.
