A question about : Borrowing large amounts on credit cards

We are currently looking to borrow Ј40,000. We can either re-mortgage our house or a friend recommended looking into putting it on a interest free credit card for 12 months. This is for property development purposes therefore we would be looking to pay back any out-standing debt by this time next year.

Would that be something that you would recommend?

Not sure if anyone's posted this before, and apologies if so BUT I thought it worth posting.

When I've received a new credit card in the past, I've ripped up and thrown away the pin number that gets sent as well, the logic being that if I don't know the number, then I can't be lured into taking cash from an ATM - because, as we MoneySavers all know, interest payments on cash withdrawals is where Credit Card companies really make their money.

A question about : Applying for as many CC as I can this month

Hi there, my employment contract comes to an end this month. will be a student again next month.

I currently have 3 credit cards and am just thinking about applying for as many 0% interest free credit cards as I can this month (to help me when I'm a student), whilst I can technically and legally fill out the application form as still being employed and earning a salary.

A question about : Seriously Bad Rating......

Hello everyone

I resently checked my credit rating on a website called checkmyfile.com and was given a very low score, in fact it actually said "you have scored the worse score of all" or something like that :-/

The actual score was 535 which i understand is very low....

How accurate are these sites?

Is it possible for me to get a credit card with such a pathetic credit rating?

Anyone have any ideas ???

A question about : Highest rate for foreign purchases

OK I know this defeats the whole object of money saving, but which credit card charges the highest for foreign transactions / purchases?

There is some sort of logic to my madness. For business expenses I get my money back. I have to travel ofen and pay for hotels, restaurant bills, etc via credit card, which are refunded back to me. Therefore I would like to find a card that charges the highest, so I can get more back (BTW is this moral / legal? I don't want to be breaking any laws).

A question about : transferring balence

hi all. im a newbie. i have a question that someone might be able to help me with.

i have got a HSBC credit card, and want to transfer the balence over to something else (i have read other threads, and egg seems a good one?) anyway, CAN i transfer a bank credit card to another one?? and will my credit rating be affected? (when i got the card my bank told me that my credit would go up)
also, how is it done?? do i just apply for a new one, and tell them about this one??

please someone make sence of all this. lol
