A question about : Problem with mastercard secure code

Hi
I recently got my first credit card, the halifax clarity for going away travelling to Asia in a few weeks, but i am having trouble using it online.
I have tried to order of a few different sites but once i get to the mastercard secure code page it comes up that the payment cannot be processed with a c5 code.
I have phone halifax twice and the card is fine,

Does anyone know how long Santander are currently taking to process credit card applications? I applied last Sunday, had an email saying 3 days but have not heard anything...

A question about : Am I due compensation due to wrong advice given

I am interested to find out if I can claim any compensation from MBNA and if anybody on here has been in a similar situation.

I have two MBNA credit cards both offering 0% balance transfers for 2 years so thought I would enquire about a balance transfer.

I have a Sainsburys loan at 4.5% PA with Ј12,000 owing. The advisor from MBNA told me I could clear the loan using a balance transfer so took the Sainsburys bank details to clear it off.

I'm in a situation (partly of my own making) and would appreciate some advise

I had a credit card with X and there was some balance on it
I got a new credit card with Y and transferred balance from it to X. It helped that Y offered me a long interest free period.

Good so far, the balance transfer cleared the balance I had on my card with X and also put me in credit by few K's.

Born in Australia but have always had a British passport. I'm a home owner, have considerable savings and income from both - all in Australia. Good credit there also.

Moved to the U.K. two years ago, opened a basic account with Barclays as that's all I needed.

A question about : Free and Easy potential scam

Apparently this has been doing the rounds for some while. A company called Free and Easy (very generic so hard to find information on them) are managing to make transactions on peoples credit and debit cards.

Disputed amounts of Ј99.99 (yes, the highest amount avoiding people having Section 75 protection for credit cards!) on peoples card statements. They have many 0871 numbers.

Does anyone have more information on them? Or have been affected?

A question about : Are banks necessary?

It seems as though younger generations are turning to prepaid debit/credit cards rather than using a bank. The few people that I've talked with said the main reason they prefer the prepaid cards is because you can't overdraft. They cited examples of losing track of how much they spent and overdrafting as much as $200. The banks charge a really high fee for this.

A question about : M&S 0% Card

Just seen this on the money saving e-mail.

I already have one credit card that is 15 months 0%, but I'm tempted to get this just to get the Ј30.

Is this bad for my credit score? I thought that Martin always said it was. I won't be applying for anything like a mortgage for about a year, but not sure if I should just forget about the Ј30 or not.
