A question about : Credit Score And More

Hi there,

I have a query into my credit score, I am looking to move out and have been told i may have my credit score checked. Im 21 and still have no clue how to make it better. Its a bad score because i used to have a gym membership along with other things that i didn't pay when i was out of work.
I've been told to get a credit card and buy something then pay it off. Its not like short on money so i could do that but i just really need help whether i should go ahead and get one or do something else.

Any advice guys?

Cheers,

Tony

  • Start by having a read through https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loa...g-credit-score for a briefing on the world of credit ratings and how they work.
Then get hold of your credit report from some or all of the main credit rating agencies to see what your status looks like to prospective credit providers. If there are any inaccuracies then take action to correct these.
If they accurately reflect defaults, missed payments, etc, then you may have difficulty getting credit, but the above article has suggestions for how to go about rebuilding your credit rating.
