A question about : Feel a bit caught in the middle

I’ve registered with another account as I would prefer to keep this vent anonymous/not associated with my usual username! Sorry if this is long.

My wife and I have a baby son, who is nearly three months old. All is going great, he’s happy and healthy and even sleeping pretty well, so no complaints there. The issues come between my wife and my parents.

I'm starting this thread because we pregnant ladies find it comforting to know what really happens when you go into labour, be that everything going swimmingly or it involving mad rushes, lots of doctors and an emergency operation.

A question about : Daughter and money!

I`m always lurking on this board but never started a thread so here goes.

DD(20) lives in a shared house with friends. Whenever she is short of money , she calls us , asking if we can help out ,which we do-begrudgingly!
She called again yesterday ,saying she had to pay rent this sat.
She started a new job a couple of weeks ago(she signed on for a month) and does not get paid til 2 weeks after the rent is due.

A question about : foreign adoption and uk law?

İ have finally got to adopt my teenage Turkish 'daughter'. İ have lived in Turkey for 8 years but still hold uk citizenship. My step daughter is 17 and i am wondering how we stand in getting favour with uk border...either now or further down the line....she has dreams of going to University in the uk and living in my home there...İ pay tax and Nİ in the uk on an occupational pension and voluntary ni.

So OH and I are getting married in later on this year. Simple registry office ceremony in the middle of the week, then on for food afterwards - very casual and informal. Having 13 guests.

Now here lies a few of my problems.

A question about : What is the point of being married?

Really? Is there any real need (apart from romantic notion) for the legal bit of being married?

I realise that this subject has been done to death, but my OH and I have just been through a Christmas with both sets of parents and families were asking when we were going to tie the knot and, after sitting down and having a proper discussion on it, we can't really see the benefit.
