I've just joined the forum so apologies if I have missed an appropriate existing thread.

Last year my family (4) were stuck in Austria because of the volcanic ash chaos. We flew with Austrian Airlines booking directly on its website.

9+ months later and 4 letters responded to, Austrian is sticking with its original stance: they have no obligation to pay any compensation but as a gesture they will refund hotel and food costs for the first two days (equivalent to Ј342) rather than the total cost of Ј1,000.

We were booked on the delayed Thomson flight TOM188 to Male on the Tuesday 18th. January 2011.

TOM 188 flight was delayed for 6&1/2 hours. We were told that the plane from Mexico had been delayed and had been diverted to Sanford in Florida due to mechanical problems.

A question about : Lost property at Barcelona airport

Hi
Going through barcelona airport last week my daughter left her coat at security. It was found and is in lost property. I asked them to post it at my expense but they wont! The only way is to book a courier to collect it and post it and they are charging 40 euro.

I really want this coat back it was brand new and it took me ages to find a coat she would wear!!

Does anyone have any ideas how i could get this back without having to remortgage??????

A question about : Another Victory against Monarch

Just to advise guys, yet another victory against Monarch Airlines. Slightly different as this was not for out of pocket expenses but Denied Boarding compensation during the ash cloud (where Monarch re-booked my friends and then denied them boarding). After nearly 11 months of correspondance and being told numerous times that they were not entitled to compensation, we now have the cheque in our hands.

Good luck to all those out there who are still fighting. Persevere, and you shall be rewarded.

some advice will be v.much appreciated.

last april (thats 2010) I with 4 children were left stranded at Madrid airport by TURKISH AIRLINES.
Our flight was from istanbul to birmingham but cancelled then put on istanbul to barcelona than diverted to madrid.
I had made arrangements in barcelona for accomadation but all this went out of the window!!
Anyway eventually got money wired from relatives & friend came with a people carrier to pick us from madrd.
